What we used to call "files" will now now referred to as **projects**. So, when you start fresh, you'll be **starting a new project**, not a new file!
## **Add tasks from home page** Adding tasks just got easier! You can now **bulk add task** directly from the home page. No more clicking through individual projects or the global tasks module—this feature lets you hit the ground running!
## **Assign due dates to tasks from global tasks and home** In response to popular demand, we’ve added the ability to **assign a due date** when adding tasks from the global tasks module or the home page. So, apart from adding a new task, assigning it to the responsible teammate ,and choosing the project it's supposed to be a part of, you can directly assign a due date to it and keep moving! Convenient, right?
## **See workspace in tasks assigned to you** Tracking where your tasks belong just became simpler. You’ll now be able to see **which workspace and project** a task assigned to you is part of, directly on the home page, on the Tasks assigned to you widget. # The Overview Tab, Now On Sketchnote April 3, 2024 We've got two vital announcements to make in this edition of our newsletter. The first, as you guessed from the title of this email, is the launch of our brand new Overview tab, designed to revolutionize how you manage projects and files within Sketchnote. The second is that we're setting the sun on three Sketchnote features. Presenting the Overview tab, designed to provide you with a comprehensive snapshot of your project's progress and key details. It's located conveniently on the top right of your files and can be toggled to pop up every time you open a file. The stronger hold you have on time you spend on tasks, the better you can streamline your workflow, manage resources, and optimize your agency's offerings. At Sketchnote, we know this all too well! With our superior time-tracking feature on tasks, we've helped revolutionize how agencies work. And today, we're taking this time-tracking ability to the next level. Introducing, the timer widget on Sketchnote. Let's tell you all about it! {% embed url="" %} **Timer widget on Sketchnote** Say goodbye to scattered focus and hello to streamlined time management right at your fingertips. How? Well, we've got a new persistent timer display on the top of your Sketchnote screen. With this, you will be able to keep an eye on time spent on any task, as your timer continues to tick, wherever you are. Previously, you'd need to go back into a task to see how long you've been working on it and to switch the timer off. Now, you can navigate all across Sketchnote and still be able to switch off your timer from the widget.
The best part? You can expand the timer to see the multiple tasks you're tracking time on—in one place! Switch between the tasks quickly and turn timers off for any task you want. Want to change information within the task? Click on Go to task from within the widget and voila! You can also click on the stopwatch icon on the top of your screen to bring up all the active task timers, and ones you've recently worked on. Start a timer from within this widget, without having to hunt for the task inside your files! It's effortless, convenient, and time-saving (while being time-tracking!) AND you can drag the widget across the screen and move it out of the way when you want.

# Adding a Better Way To Log Time! April 5, 2024 The ability to see exactly where time's being spent on tasks is a superpower. With this ability, you can see exactly where things need optimization, your timely intervention to clear bottlenecks, and how to design smoother work processes. And today's main update story will help you account for time better. Let's tell you all about it: {% embed url="" %} **Add manual time log** You spoke, and we listened! Introducing the new manual time log feature on Sketchnote. Now, you can easily log time for your tasks directly from the Timesheets tab. Simply navigate to the left side panel, click on "Add time log," select the task, input the date, time spent, and add a brief description. This feature is perfect for scenarios where you're offline, working separately, or need to log time retrospectively.
**Add description to time logs** Enhancing the Time Log feature is the addition of the Description tab! Now, you can provide relevant details about the time spent on each task when you're tracking time. You can add descriptions to time spent from within the tasks when using a timer, or retrospectively on manual time log. This information is also exportable, making it convenient for billing and invoicing purposes. **Scrollbar enhancements** For Sketchnote users on Windows systems, we've implemented horizontal and vertical scrollbars across all views. Say goodbye to endless scrolling with the keyboard and hello to streamlined navigation! A special shout-out to **Tensai** for suggesting this feature addition. **Centralized filter button** We've now added a centralized filter button for being able to find your tasks better. Now, you can easily filter categories across Global tasks, Timesheets, and List view without the hassle of scrolling to locate the section.

When we slow down a bit and check out our feedback box, we see all your wonderful ideas on how to make existing Sketchnote features better. And that motivates us to dedicate a feature improvement week at least once a month! So, let's get into what's new this week! {% embed url="" %} **Timesheet Updates:** * **Task Grouping:** You can now group tasks, where all time clocked in subtasks will be neatly mentioned underneath the main task. No more confusion with generic log names like "log 1" and "log 2" – you'll now know exactly which task each log belongs to. This will help you perform pivot tables and other operations on CSV exports a lot better, without fretting over pairing subtasks with their parents. Of course, if you wish for a group-by-task setting way to look at your timesheet, you can choose that option from the drop-down instead. * **Time Range Display:** You'll now see the precise time range for each task on the timesheet. For example, it will display "10:12 am to 12:16 pm," providing clarity on the exact duration spent on each task. * **Persistent Filters on CSV Export:** When you apply filters to your timesheet and download CSV data for local examination, those filters will now persist on the CSV file as well. No more re-adding filters in Excel— say hello to a seamless experience. * **CSV Time Formatting:** Downloaded CSV files will now display the time spent on each task in a more readable decimal format, eliminating the need to decipher milliseconds.
**UI/UX Changes** * **Circular Mark as Complete Button:** The Mark as complete button is now circular in shape, even in list views. This makes it visually distinct from the square button used for bulk actions, enhancing usability and reducing the chances of errors. * **Better Subtask Visibility:** Subtasks are now clearly visible on the calendar view, denoted by an arrow next to them. Hovering over a subtask will display the name of its parent task, providing context and improving navigation. * **Streamlined Filters in Kanban View:** In the Kanban view, filters are now more streamlined. Instead of displaying icons of all your teammates at the top, you can open a dropdown and use checkboxes to select which teammates' tasks you want to filter, ensuring a clutter-free view tailored to your needs.
# All-new Approvals and Notifications on Sketchnote! March 8, 2024 This latest Sketchnote update will revolutionize project management for your agency. And we're not just saying it! Our commitment to providing a workflow par excellence continues with the introduction of two groundbreaking features this week: Approvals and all-new notifications! Let's tell you all about it: {% embed url="" %} **Approvals, finally live on Sketchnote** You've probably seen the feature on Sketchnote for a few days now, and we're extremely chuffed to announce that we've implemented the amazing new Approvals feature in Sketchnote. Now, you can easily raise approval requests for each task, involving both your colleagues and clients. This feature is designed to facilitate collaboration and ensure that your projects move forward smoothly. To get started, click on the double-check button on each task. Add approvers from within your team or clients you've already added to Sketchnote. Choose the number of minimum okays required for this particular task to be considered as approved. And that's it!
Your approvers will receive real-time notification and a mail to approve, reject, or request changes on this task. With Sketchnote's Approvals, you have the power to enhance communication, make informed decisions, and keep your projects on track. Improved transparency is finally here to elevate your project management process! **Notifications, overhauled** We understand the importance of staying updated on your project's progress, and the need to have a robust notifications system. To further improve your user experience on Sketchnote, we're pleased to announce a complete revamp of our notifications system! Our new and improved notifications system will show you a pop-up box on the website with information you need to pay attention to. With Sketchnote's enhanced notifications, you can stay focused and engaged, even in the busiest of work environments! # Unleashing Enhancements for Your Sketchnote Journey March 1, 2024 This week, we're going back to the basics and helping you make the best out of your Sketchnote experience. When you're working on your tasks, finding information should be easier, and that's what this update is all about! We're excited to bring you some new tweaks to help you organize your work even more efficiently in Sketchnote! Let's get to it: {% embed url="" %} **Location renamed**\ In response to user feedback, we have made an adjustment in My Tasks, Global Tasks, and Timesheets. The "Location" section has been renamed to "File," providing a clearer idea of where the tasks belong in.\ \ **Date format fix**\ We understand the importance of consistency, especially when it comes to dates. And with this update, you'll be able to read dates in the DD/MM/YY format in lists, ensuring a seamless and uniform display across all your tasks.
**Enhanced task visibility**\ We've added two new columns to "My tasks" to provide greater context and transparency: * **Workspace**: This column displays the workspace associated with each task, making it easier to identify issues belonging to specific projects. * **Assigner**: This column, available in both "Global Tasks" and "My Tasks," shows who assigned a particular task, fostering greater accountability and team collaboration. **Global task enhancement**\ In addition to the "Assigner" column, the Global Tasks view now features a "Status" column. This allows you to easily see the current progress of each task, whether it's "To Do," "In Progress," or "Completed." Or any other column you've added to your files to showcase what the progress of your task is.
**Workspace sorting flexibility**\ Customization is key, and now you have more control over how you view your workspaces. This means you can now sort workspaces alphabetically! \ \ **Bulk delete power**\ For a more streamlined workflow, we've introduced the ability to delete multiple tasks simultaneously. This feature is available inside your files, enabling you to quickly clear out completed tasks or reorganize your workload with ease. To bulk delete tasks, select all of them you want to get rid of. Then click on Actions and choose delete. It's really that simple!

Check out all the changes in action! # Maximize Efficiency With Sketchnote's Global Tasks February 9th, 2024 The year 2024 has been all about making Sketchnote seamless for your usage. And this week's update adds another feather in this illustrious cap of ours. Presenting, Global tasks on Sketchnote, that give you a bird's eye view of all the work being done across your organization. Let's tell you more. {% embed url="" %} **Global tasks for admin optimization** Several Sketchnote power users, who have fully embraced Sketchnote had one question: Can owners or admins see the statuses of ALL tasks in one consolidated section? And we built it for you! Introducing the Global tasks view, a specially built dashboard for organization owners and admins to get a peek into all the work being done on Sketchnote.
You can head to the Global tasks section on the left sidebar now and check out all items listed. Use the filter options on task status, priority, due date, assignees, and more to find the exact work being done. This feature will help cut out the need to go into workspaces and files to individually track project-based issues and their progress. You can also track the completion status of team members on tasks over months, helping you figure out incentives, appraisals, and more. **Search assigner and assignee** For agencies and companies with 10 or more employees, finding the right person to assign your tasks to can involve a lot of scrolling. Well, no more! Now you can use the new search bar to find the right person to assign the task to within seconds. You can also use the search feature to find an assigner, in case you wish to change the responsible person for a task.
# All-New Timesheets On Sketchnote February 2nd, 2024 We're starting February off with a bang! Today's update is one of many MAJOR updates rolling out to Sketchnote this month. So, without further ado, presenting a new and improved global Timesheet experience on Sketchnote! {% embed url="" %} **Timesheets get robust** Many agencies using Sketchnote had one request—can we get a tab to see ALL time logged across tasks and their details? You sure can! The new Timesheets tab on the left side panel will give admins access to all the tasks across the organization and the time tracked on them. You can expand these to see the multiple logs that make up the task. Information such as date of time tracked, person who tracked the time, and billing time is mentioned.
The amazing thing about this is that you can filter results to see exactly the information you need. Filter by project or workspaces to see the time spent on a particular client. Or filter by person to see time logged by a resource on Sketchnote. Did we mention you can also download your timesheet to examine them locally? Because that's now possible on Sketchnote timesheets! A huge shoutout to Sketchnote power user Atul Dhakappa and Team Xenia Consulting for suggesting this amazing new feature. # Multi List View With Filters Now on Sketchnote! 19th January, 2023 We've had a rather special start to this year with some amazing features released and in the pipeline. There's also our amazing new LinkedIn audio series—Agency Growth: From $0-$1 million ARR keeping listeners engaged online! So if you haven't checked it out yet, we've added links at the end of this newsletter. Stay with us! And now, for this week's update: {% embed url="" %} **Multiple list views and filters, now live on Sketchnote** Like most of our recent updates, this one too is rooted in your—our power users'—requests. Many of your agencies wished to see multiple lists on their boards, each with its own filters. And it's now live! Now, you can add list views an unlimited number of times to your board and activate filters on them. So, you can have one list view with the priority filter on where you see just high priority items, or a list view with tasks assigned to only one team member.
It's super simple to do this: Click on +Add view button and add a list view to your board. Now, use the filter icon on the required column and set the filter. It's now going to be sticky and available to your whole team. Bonus: You can rename this view to say "High priority items" or "Items assigned to Jack" so you can find the view easily! You can upgrade right away for a more polished, professional agency management experience! **Move tasks from one file to another** Ever felt the need to take your existing tasks, as they are—subtasks, descriptions, and more—and put them in another file? Let's tell you a great example: A lot of our power users work on monthly task files. But what happens when there are some left over and need to be transferred to another file? Well, now you can! Select tasks you wish to move, click on move files, and choose the file you want it moved to! It's as simple as that. Check out the gif and video to see how they work!
Check out all the changes in action # Change Subtask Status Columns on Sketchnote December 8, 2023 'Tis the season... for UX enhancements! You got it; over the last couple of weeks, we've been sifting through the tweaks suggested by Sketchnote users like you. And we've implemented a whole bunch of these to make your experience on Sketchnote even better. Here they are: {% embed url="" %} **Subtask status control**\ You now have the power to change the status of a subtask independently from its parent task. This newest feature update grants you more precise control over each component of your project, allowing you to monitor progress with unmatched granularity.
How can you do this? Well, simply change the status in the list view. Or you can do it from within the task module. Which brings us to... **Update task status from inside module**\ Yes! You can now change the status column of the task from within the open module. Which means no more closing the task and dragging it from one column to the other on the Kanban board. \ \ You can continue changing the status column from the List view as is. \ \ A big shoutout to team [**Xenia Consulting**](https://sketchnote.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=abd43d42e6394709af6c6f515\&id=c63c8a2533\&e=cc73db0c12) for suggesting these two amazing feature tweaks that are the heroes of this week!
**Label color customization**\ We're happy to announce that you can now customize task labels according to your preferences. Previously, auto-assigned colors sometimes led to duplication. That won't happen anymore; the control lies in your hands! Change colors as many times as you need to make your view as informative as possible in one glance.
**Hide and show List columns**\ You can now hide columns that you're not interested in seeing on the List view. Simply click on the three dashes next to a column name, head to the columns tab, and deselect the ones you do not wish to see at the moment. Select them back if you change your mind! \ \ These hide-and-show filters will be native to your browser, so your teammates continue seeing the columns as is! Psst: You can also drag and shuffle columns around, and these too will only be visible to you. Get comfortable with the order of the data you want to work with!
**Document fixes**\ We're continually working on making sure Documents are a stronger view for you to use. We've made a collaboration enhancement, to ensure a lot more of your team can work on the docs together without it throwing up issues. \ \ A cursor jump fix issue has also been fixed. Earlier, if a collaborator deleted the text where you were currently at, your cursor would jump to the start of the doc. This bug has been fixed. # We Just Upgraded Sketchnote's Task Window November 21, 2023 We've been bitten by the festive bug at Sketchnote! As we celebrated Diwali at our India HQ, we also decided to extend the joy to the platform! This time's update brings a long-awaited overhaul to the task window. And some more UX overhauls. Check them out! PS: A special shout-out to Ken Cheung from Orbit Startups, for volunteering to do this update video for us! {% embed url="" %} **New task modal, now live** You'll fall in love with this one. We've got a spanking new look to the task window. When you open up an issue, you can find a cleaner look to help you focus on the things that matter most. For one, you can see labels laid out on the screen immaculately and subtasks front and center. The description box is bigger and better to allow you more space to write the most important pointers about this particular task.
We've been able to do this because we've moved the entirety of the right-hand column to other sides of the modal. You can now see the priority label as a priority flag on the top left of your box. The assignee, assigner, date, and time sections are now on the top right of the screen. The icons on the top right will pop out comments, attachments, and the history of this task—so that you can open them only when you need them. The watch task and share button continue to remain right there on the icon panel.
This neat new look to the task window will bring your focus back to things that matter the most. And it's quite stunning to look at, if we may be honest! November 3, 2023 We've always had a remote team, with Sketchers working around the world to ensure your experience on the platform is top-notch. And this past week, we've truly gone global with most of our team working from the UK, Munnar, and Singapore. But first, this week's amazing updates, brought to you by our awesome (and OG global) tech team! {% embed url="" %} **Upgraded "Start New File" Modal**\ Our "Start new file" modal has received a significant facelift. The sleek new modal now offers four options: Task/File, Scrum, Form, and the AI Query Bot. \ \ If you're concerned about where the other views are, don't be! They're right here! All your task views (Kanban, Calendar, Gantt, List) and Page views (Embed, Worksheet, Document, Whiteboard, and Wiki) are now nestled under "Task/File." Form, Scrum, and AI Query Bot can be accessed directly from the modal.
You can effortlessly add all the views you're accustomed to in a file, with the List view as the primary view. This little tweak makes things smoother when you want to start a new file and saves you precious time. Plus, you can now access Sketchnote's Template store conveniently from the brand new tab on the sidebar, just above the "+ Start new file" button. **A more streamlined Sketchnote sidebar**\ Story time: Some of our power users manage over 200 workspaces in their organization! With the older sidebar design, scrolling endlessly to find the latest workspace could be quite a task. You can easily search for a workspace by name using the search bar and select the one you need. Click the arrow on the right to unveil the file list in that workspace. It's that simple and efficient! Say goodbye to the days of juggling between Slack, Teams, and WhatsApp for discussions. Now, you can simply start a new Chat view within Sketchnote to discuss issues at hand. Whether you want to coordinate tasks, brainstorm ideas, or just have a casual chat, the Chat view is your one-stop destination.
As with documents on Sketchnote, the Chat view comes with the ability to bring up commands by typing '/'. You can format content within your chat effortlessly! Share your thoughts, attach images, and even embed YouTube videos—everything you need for seamless collaboration. And that's not all! Mention someone using the '@' sign in the chat, and they'll receive an email notification. It's all about keeping everyone in the loop! **Better time estimations** We get it. Different industries work with different time estimation standards. That's why we're introducing a flexible time estimation feature! You can now add estimated time to tasks in days instead of the standard hours. This update is especially handy for industries where day estimation is more relevant than hours. If you remember, we introduced a proper swanky new look to the My Tasks view. And you've loved it! Our epic new change this time means the same stunning new look will now be available to ALL lists across Sketchnote. Including Scrum view, which also has a bunch of new improvements to it. Let's tell you more: {% embed url="" %} **A new-look List view!** This has been an epic update in the waiting for months now and we're so glad to take it live! This makeover was made with a focus on providing users with a more efficient and visually appealing task management experience. The tasks now look larger and more attractive, ensuring that your important issues stand out and can be prioritized with ease.
You can view all essential task details, due dates, and tags without the need to open each task individually, streamlining your workflow. Plus, the performance of the List view has been optimized for faster loading and smoother operation, even when dealing with large task lists! What's more? You can add 5,000 rows to your list view, without facing any lag or other issues. This new improvement is best for large database work. **Making changes to Scrum view** Since the List view has got a new look, your tasks in Scrum view will also don this amazing new avatar! You can see your tasks in a more compact, yet detailed format. We've also made a couple of more minor—yet important—changes to Scrum. One, when you add a subtask to an item, you can change the parent of the task from within it. It makes moving a subtask from one issue to another an absolute breeze and you can work dependencies out a lot more flexibly.
Two, you can now change the item type of a subtask. So, for example, a subtask under a story type can be changed to a bug—the subtask is no longer bound by the parent type! Check out all the changes in action, now! # A New Look for My Tasks Is Here October 6, 2023 This time's update is all about improvements. Blending our own understanding of Sketchnote products and feedback from you, our amazing users, we've made some epic new changes to the platform! From a new-look My Tasks, to Board tweaks that will help improve your productivity, here's what's new on Sketchnote this time: {% embed url="" %} **All-new My Tasks!** We've completely redone My Tasks so you can get to issues you need to handle quickly first. Now, we've pre-arranged sections based on the task due dates. You'll first see past due dates and tasks that may be overdue, followed by tasks due today, this week, next week, and later. Tasks without a due date are in a separate section so you can assign them one whenever possible.
The best part? On popular demand we've also added a checkbox to hide completed tasks. This way you can concentrate only on things that you need to work on, without being distracted by older issues. This new-look My Tasks ensures a bigger, better look for your issues, including a more prominent color band for priority levels. But the rest of it remains the same! You can still open up tasks and work on it from within My Tasks and see everything assigned to you within your organization. **New dashboard widgets are here** Sometimes too much information can have a counterintuitive effect, and at Sketchnote we understand this. While a host of widget options were available on the platform earlier, we've whittled them down to show you the most important ones only with this new update. In the central widget options, you can now see tasks assigned to you, your favorite files, and your workspaces. The side widget option now features the Calendar widget, plus the upcoming deadline widget is now sticky to show you what's due.
Other widgets like the Lo-fi chill zone, AskAlex tab, Help centre, and change log still remain as is. This is an endeavor from Sketchnote's side to ensure your dashboard remains as clutter-free as possible, while still giving you information you need at a glance! **Board changes** We've added a couple of improvements to the Board you're going to love! After all, most of these ideas came from YOUR feedback: First up, you can now duplicate single tasks with just a click of a button! A lot of you had been asking for a way to duplicate one-off tasks without turning them into templates. So, now you can click on the horizontal kebab menu on the task card (or inside it) and click on duplicate task! That simple. Second, you can now add an assigner to your task. This helps add a point of contact for the issue at hand, plus aids in analytics better.
# Important Announcement About Sketchnote Academy September 12, 2023 This bulletin is regarding a change to our platform that we believe will help streamline your experience on Sketchnote. We're sunsetting the Sketchnote Academy feature on September 22, 2023. For many of you, the Academy section has been a valuable resource on Sketchnote, and has doubled up as a stepping stone in your journey to running a company. It was designed with the aim of helping new entrepreneurs learn the ropes of the business world. However, as our platform has evolved and grown, we've identified the need to make some adjustments to ensure a more focused and clutter-free experience for our users. With this in mind, we would like to inform you that we will be sunsetting the Academy feature on Sketchnote, effective September 22, 2023. This means that starting on that date, you will no longer be able to access the Academy and lessons on it. We understand that this change may come as a surprise, but please rest assured that it's part of our commitment to refining and improving Sketchnote to meet your evolving needs. The focus is now firmly on your project management and productivity needs, and we'll keep working on improving it. While we're saying goodbye to the current iteration of the Academy, we have exciting plans to bring it back in a new and improved avatar in the near future. Thank you for being a huge part of the Academy journey on Sketchnote. Do you too—like most of us—forget to start your task timer and stop it when you're working on a task? If yes, you're going to LOVE this week's update! Introducing, automations on Sketchnote boards, an attempt to increase your team's productivity by leaps and bounds. Let's dive in and tell you all about it: {% embed url="" %} **Automate your tasks, easily** Two of the most amazing automations we've added to Sketchnote boards this week involve subtask creation and timers. Here's what they do: * Subtask magic: Sick of manually adding the same subtasks over and over again? We hear you! Our subtask automation feature allows you to automatically create specific subtasks whenever a task is created. Whether it's a series of steps, checklists, or any other subtask, add it without having to lift a finger! * Effortless and accurate time tracking: We get it, life happens. Sometimes you forget to start your timer correctly or forget to hit stop on it. With our new timer automation feature, you won't have to. When you now move a task between columns, you can set up an automation to start the timer. Or stop it! Just get to work on your tasks now, instead.
Setting up automations on your Sketchnote Kanban board is very simple. Look for the button on the top right of your screen that says Automation. Select from the available automation options and configure them to your liking. Once you're satisfied with your settings, hit Create automation and watch the magic unfold!
**Bug fix: Pinning and unpinning of files** For a small number of Sketchnote users, pinning and unpinning files was a tad glitchy. We've fixed it! Now when you pin and unpin files, they'll stay that way. Never lose track of another file again!
# Three New Feature Updates on Sketchnote August 7, 2023 After a couple (read: THREE) of new feature updates, we've worked on improvements this week!\ \ Over the last month or so we launched features like Wiki view, a whole new Scrum view, and a brand new AI QueryBot. Like most of you, we dump our subtasks into the main task in bulk and then wonder which ones we need to get to first. Unfortunately, this dump remained in static order. But that was before this week's updates! Now, you can simply drag and drop your subtasks to re-arrange them in the order of your preference, chronology, or priority. Check out how it works!
**Workspaces on reporting analytics** Admins, rejoice! We've now added a new feature tweak that will allow you to track your team's analytics and metrics at an even more granular level. While you could choose files to track in your reporting metrics earlier, you can now choose to include or exclude entire workspaces for better control. So say you need to see team performance analytics for just your sales and marketing, as well as content spaces, you can open the dropdown and check boxes next to just these two workspaces. Exclude the rest to get absolutely accurate data on the segmented areas you need!
**Calendar widget gets more interactive** We know you love the calendar widget on your dashboards! It's a mainstay for most teams we speak with, who tell us being able to see what meetings they're scheduled to be a part of, on Sketchnote, is extremely helpful. And with this week's update, it's about to get a lot more so! You can now click on the meeting name on the calendar widget, to have it open on the Google Calendar website, in a new tab. Here, you can modify or delete your calendar entry, whenever you need. Add more meetings while still on the site, and see it populate on your Sketchnote widget. Awesome, right?

But actually extracting vital pointers from the vast sea of information is a bit of an arduous task. Our latest release is about to change this time-consuming process into a fun and quick assignment. Introducing Sketchnote's AI QueryBot, where we've harnessed the power of artificial intelligence to extract the most important bits of information from your detailed data, just when you need them. Let's tell you all about it! {% embed url="" %} **AI QueryBot for all your queries** Imagine if, like most prompts, you could simply ask AI to tell you what a PDF document was all about. You don't have to imagine it anymore. With Sketchnote's AI QueryBot, you can actually do this! So whether it's a legal paper, or a new agreement, or even a government circular—all you need to do is upload it to the AI QueryBot view on Sketchnote.
We've turned AI QueryBot into a file view. Why? So that you can save your PDF docs and the questions you've asked on it as a file. This means your colleagues too can open it at any time, see pre-asked questions and build on top of it!
Psst: Make sure the PDF is a typed out document and not a handwritten one, for more accurate results! This amazing new feature is available for free for all Sketchnote users for a limited period, and will be part of our AI credit package at a later date. So go on, give this new feature a spin! # Scrum Sprints Come to Sketchnote! July 17, 2023 Boy, do we have a slamming update for you today! Usually, we announce a bevy of updates in each of our newsletters, but this one is special. We've reserved this one especially for one huge, amazing feature—also a much-requested one. Scrum! Let's tell you more about the new agile sprint-specific view we've just launched! {% embed url="" %} **Start Scrum sprints on Sketchnote** We know many companies and tech teams that are on Sketchnote also swear by the agile methodology of working. And Scrum is by far one of the most popular ways of doing agile sprints. So, we added a whole separate Scrum view on Sketchnote that will get you started on the journey quickly.
To start your own sprint, fire up the Scrum view. You'll notice that we've already demarcated the view neatly into Backlog, Sprint board, and Analytics.
Now, add items to your empty board. You can classify these as stories, bugs, or tasks. Next, you can create a larger Epic that allows you to classify your smaller user stories. For the unversed, every Epic usually follows a theme and a higher goal under which each of these corresponding user stories resides. Finally, once you have a subset of relevant user stories ready, you can add them to a new Sprint and start working on it! Remember, traditionally each Sprint lasts around two weeks and requires a Scrum master, a Product Owner, and several meetings to be completely fruitful.

July 4th, 2023 It's been a while since we met each other in your inbox. And to make up for it, we've got a slew of new features and tweak announcements to make in this newsletter. So, without further ado, let's tell you everything that's up with changes on docs, forms, calendar... and a brand new **WIKI VIEW!** {% embed url="" %} **Wiki view is here!** You asked, and we delivered! Sketchnote now has an exclusive wiki view. You can get started by clicking on the new file option and selecting the wiki option. Why this view, you ask? It's only the best way to easily create your product or service documentation! You can create an organization-wide master wiki where your company's knowledge will fully reside.
Add or link files within this central brain file to create one single source of truth for how your business works. The silos of created files will divide information between different departments and help them sync together. As your company grows, you can continue documenting everything from use cases to dos and don'ts in one single hub. To link files, simply bring up the / option and choose files. Create a new one or add an existing one to it. The best part? You can make as many wikis as you need for any project or department you want! Check out how it works in the view above! **Table of contents in every doc** Docs now have a table of content that will help you navigate to the right section quickly within seconds. Every heading you add to your document will get logged onto the table of contents. It not just acts as an index to show you a glimpse of all that's inside, but also clicking on the header turns it into a navigator. Smooth, right?
**Emojis on docs** Do we need to explain this one? Emojis really enhance what you wish to say on docs, and also act as great accompaniments to your headers. You can now add an emoji to your doc from within Sketchnote. Simply type in ":" and describe the emoji you want. Select the right one from the dropdown and you're good to go. Psst: Adding emojis to your headers also puts them on the table of contents we spoke about above!
**New calendar enhancements** We know you love using calendars. At Sketchnote, we do too! So we decided to take the simple-looking calendar and add a dash of color to it! Now, you can see a band of color on each task in your calendar, which corresponds to the column on the Kanban board. For example, say you have 3 columns on your Kanban named Backlog, In Progress, and Completed with red, yellow, and green as assigned colors. A task under the backlog column in red will also show up with a red band in the calendar. Bonus: You can even see label colors on the task strip! Another neat update to the calendar is that if you check off the task as complete, it will blank it out in the calendar. This way, you never need to worry about if you've finished your task or not.

Over the last week, we've also given a new look to Sketchnote forms! Now you can toggle between create, results, preview, and settings from the left-hand side panel on forms. This makes navigation a lot quicker and your form looks much neater!
# Delete Spam Entries on Sketchnote Forms May 29th, 2023 We've had an exciting couple of weeks here at Sketchnote, both online and offline. While we continue working on improving the Sketchnote experience for our users, we're also involved on-ground to create a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. Want to know more? Stick around till the end of this newsletter to find out more about this exciting community! But for now, here are this week's amazing updates: {% embed url="" %} **Form entries can now be deleted** Sketchnote forms have been a hit since the day we launched it, there's no two ways about that! But it's only through constant feedback we've received from our power-users that we've been able to improve its functionality and make it perfect. And this week's update is an addition to it—you can now delete form entries you've received. Several times—despite CAPTCHA, et al—spam entries on your form can trickle through. And accounting for them after downloading a CSV file of it can become a tedious affair. Not to mention it messes with summary answers and analytics when you try to look at the larger picture. So, you can now delete entries irrelevant to you on forms. Simply hit the delete button on the top right of the entry in the inbox view. And housekeeping done!
**Customize dashboard option now easier to find** Within Sketchnote itself, we've got a hundred different permutations and combinations of how our dashboard widgets look like. While I swear by my calendar widget, our tech team loves the Upcoming deadline widget. And the content team absolutely needs the Tasks recently assigned to you widget, so they always know what's up! We've always been big fans of users being able to see what's important to them at a glance on the dashboard. But customizing it was always a two-step process, with users needing to go into Settings first. Now, we've got the customize button right there on the dashboard, so you can quickly dress up your screen just the way you want it! Simply toggle widgets on and off and save changes easily.
# Turn Your Form Responses Into Tasks May 15, 2023 It's been about a couple of weeks since we announced the Sketchnote AI feature, and we've been floored by your response and appreciation! While you still work on crushing those content pieces and ideas on Sketchnote AI, we've got a couple of nifty new updates for you for this week. Let's get into it! {% embed url="" %} **Turn form answers into tasks** You asked for it, and we delivered! Now, when you create a new form, you can also link it to a file that will populate responses as tasks. These tasks can easily be assigned to your team and worked on. Those customer feedback forms or troubleshooting requests? Don't spend hours turning responses into tasks and then assigning them to your team. In the settings option on the top right, select Form settings and then Save results as tasks. Create a new file in a workspace and select the question you want the tasks to be named after. So for example, if it's a feedback form, you can have the names of the responders as task titles. Nifty, right? Check out the video to see how it works!
**Download timesheets** This cool new update will let you export your timesheet data locally to your devices now. When you add a timesheet to any board where your team's been logging in their hours, you can check out a brilliant breakdown of estimated time, time tracked, billable, and non-billable hours. Further, each task is broken down into time spent on it by each user and multiple sessions for each task. Now, you can export this data as a CSV sheet. This will allow you to check out your data on any spreadsheet software, and you can re-upload this information on Sketchnote to work on it in more detail. Turn the infor in this CSV into visual charts, filter data, and find a more effective way to maximize your potential output—collectively!
**New way to find workspaces** You already know workspaces are accessible from the left of your screen. The side panel houses these workspaces, as well as dropdowns to let you look at pinned files. Now, we will also help you get to workspaces faster, with a new section on the dashboard! You can check out thumbnails of your workspaces and access them from the dashboard too!
**Icons get a mini overhaul** In our quest to make Sketchnote look and feel stunning, we regularly make small changes here and there. However, this one's a special upgrade. We've been tweaking our icons to be more accurate—and aesthetically pleasing—this week! The icons will mostly remain in a non-filled state (for example, a delete icon will look like an empty trash can and not a full one) and will be sleeker and more modern looking now.
# Introducing Sketchnote AI To Power Up Your Work May 3, 2023 We're here with some amazing news—Sketchnote's on the AI train! Presenting AI on Sketchnote docs, for all your quick content generation needs. If there's one thing that's become clear over the last few months, it's that AI can actually be a handy way to help push your work along faster. And it made perfect sense to bring together Sketchnote's powerful documents and AI to aid you in your daily tasks. Let's tell you a bit about how this works. {% embed url="" %} **Sketchnote AI is here!** On any document on Sketchnote, you can hit the / icon and type in AI to bring up the bot. We've already populated the tool with some frequent use-case scenarios like writing a tweet, generating a content calendar, fixing grammar, or writing a quick sales email, amongst other options.\ \ You can pick from the list above to make short work of your tasks or write in your own prompt. Remember, the more detailed your prompt, the better the response. Some stuff you can do with Sketchnote's AI: * Generate a pros and cons list: Contemplating an action plan? Ask Sketchnote AI to help you out with making a decision. * Write social copy: Create copies for Instagram, Twitter, or even LinkedIn within seconds. Simply tell the AI your topic and go! * Write a blog post: Produce long-form content super quickly. Tell the AI bot what you wish to write about, and the word count, and you're done. **As an inaugural offer, Sketchnote AI will be free to use for all users till 31 July 2023, following which we will announce a pricing tier for the tool.**
**Link files in docs** We've seen several instances where you need to add a reference to another file in Sketchnoteverse (yes, this is a thing now!). And so, in today's update, we've added a way to link files inside documents on Sketchnote. To do this, simply hit / and look for the option called File. Once you click on it, you'll be shown all the files you can link to this document. Or, you can search for it too. Linked files can be opened by simply clicking on them. Neat, isn't it?
**Brand new onboarding** We've designed a brand-new onboarding system for new sign-ups on Sketchnote. It's been designed to give you an experience tailored to your profile and needs from being on the platform. We'll ask you questions like what your role in your organization is (founder, part of an accelerator, student, etc.) and what your main objective for using Sketchnote is (are you using it for project management or task management?). And boom! Let's show you how you can accomplish your main goals quickly and efficiently with Sketchnote!
**Tweaks to the layout** We're making some cosmetic changes to the Sketchnote layout to make it look more aesthetic and aligned. For example, check out this gif for a before and after comparison. A lot more symmetric and aligned, Sketchnote's gotten a facelift!
# Task Reminders and Recurring Tasks Live on Sketchnote April 20, 2023 We've been working on some really amazing features to inject into your Sketchnote experience. Today's newsletter is one installment of these features we'd love to introduce to you. So, buckle up! This is going to be a fun ride! {% embed url="" %} **Set reminders and recurring tasks** We've armed your task cards to be a lot more efficient. How, you ask? Well, you can now set reminders for your tasks AND even set recurring tasks. First up, let's talk about reminders. You can choose to be reminded that a task is due one or two days before the due date—take your pick while setting the due date. Second, you can set a task as recurring on weekly, monthly, or yearly intervals and the days you want the task to recur. You can also choose to set a custom interval! Remember, you can't choose reminders for recurring tasks just yet.
**Create contracts on Sketchnote** We're rehoming and rebranding our legal templates as contracts! As you know, Sketchnote allows you to create your own frequently-used legal papers like NDAs, memorandums of understanding, SAFE agreements, and a lot more. These could earlier be found in the Academy section of Sketchnote dashboards. Now, you can choose from any of these legal papers by choosing the “Contract” option when you start a new file. It's as easy as that to generate your own legal contracts on a budget!
# Control Your File View Privacy March 13, 2023 One of our biggest aims at Sketchnote is to ensure a level of customization to suit your needs, on every level. Therefore we've got privacy levels on workspaces and files. You decide who you want to share your data with, and who you don't. Heck, we even have password protection on public files so your information goes only to those you intend them for. And so, this week, we're adding another layer of privacy to Sketchnote. This time, within your files. Presenting, manage view access. Let's tell you all about it. {% embed url="" %} **A new access level for file views** You already know how you can add multiple views to a single file. From documents and whiteboards to task views like Kanban, list, Gantt and more—add 'em all! And now, you can also control who can see which views inside a file. So if your marketing team doesn't need to see tech specification documents inside your file, or if a freelancer needn't have access to internal sprints, just remove their access!
Here's how it works: For files that are shared or in public workspaces, click on Share on the top right of your screen and select Manage views. Here, you can see a list of the people who have access to this file. Find the person you want to remove access to certain views for and select the dropdown next to all views. Uncheck the box next to the views you don't want them to have and then hit save. And that's it! You've added a new level of privacy, within files! # Turn Your Task Into a Template March 7, 2023 We love how so many startups have already embraced the idea of making their own templates and saving time and energy while dealing with daily tasks. Yes, we're looking at you! We're all big proponents of templatizing recurring activities and creating a more streamlined way of working. And to take this a step further, this week we're introducing a way to turn your tasks into templates. Plus form improvements like sheet view and CAPTCHA are here. Let's begin! {% embed url="" %} **Task templates are ready to go** You can now create and reuse tasks regularly, including custom fields and placeholder text. Say, you need to create a task to register a new customer in your system. Instead of manually adding fields for your new entry, you can choose a template when adding a new task. And you're good to go! To choose a template task, you can either click on the + icon next to a Kanban column. You can choose a blank task here or start with your existing templates. You can also open File options on the top right of your screen and choose "Task templates". Another way of getting templates is to open a new task, choose the kebab menu on the top left of your task and choose Import a template.
There are two very simple ways of creating your own templates. Click on the + icon next to the Kanban column and then select New template. Fill out the task box with fields, including custom ones, and click on "Create template". Or, when you've added a new blank task to your board and realize you want to repeat it, click on the kebab menu on the top right of the screen and click on Save as template. Give your template a relevant name you can recognize easily and save it! **Sheet view on forms** Besides the inbox and summary views that allow you to get a compact look at all the responses to your form, we've decided to go a step further. Presenting the sheet view in results for forms! Now, you'll be able to see all your responses in a worksheet format and download it to analyze them better. You can work with this sheet on Sketchnote itself, or use your own programs for analyzing the data better—take your pick!
**CAPTCHA for form submission** Another awesome addition to forms this week is the addition of CAPTCHA for submission. A simple click on the CAPTCHA can help you avoid being spammed by bots or invalid submissions. Add it to your form through form settings and be assured of authentic responses.
# All Eyes On Sketchnote Whiteboard February 20, 2023 This week's newsletter is quite packed with feature additions to Sketchnote Whiteboards and Forms. Feature additions that we think you will find a lot of utility in. So, let's get straight into it! {% embed url="" %} **Follow and Spotlight with colleagues on Whiteboard** We love how teams use Whiteboards to jam and create plans together, visually. But when you have a scattered, remote team and multiple people working on a huge canvas, it can be a bit difficult. Not only when it comes to finding out what (or where) your colleagues are working on, but also when you need to put the attention back on yourself. And so, we've got Follow and Spotlight!
To be able to follow a particular collaborator, all you need to do is click on their profile picture on the top right of your screen. You'll instantly "follow" them to whatever part of the canvas they're on in the moment. To unfollow them, click on their picture again! When you want to bring the attention back to you, hover over your profile picture and click on "Spotlight" to instantly bring all collaborators over to your side of the canvas, so they can look at what you're doing. When you'd like them to go back to doing their own thing, simply click on "Cancel". Check out how these features work in the video above! **Auto-submit timer on Forms** The use cases of Sketchnote forms are innumerable. While many use it to get feedback, apply for leaves and requests, or collect applications, an important aspect of using forms is also conducting tests. Whether they're for students or for jobs, Sketchnote forms can smoothly double up as a robust way to collect information and analyze it. And now, you can set a timer to your form, which will auto-submit whatever sections the responder has filled till that time. You can find the option to set a timer using the gear icon on the top right of your forms screen. Do note that you can't mark any field as required when you create forms with auto-submit timers at this point.
# Search Your Files Better On Sketchnote! February 6, 2023 This week, we've got one amazing new feature tweak and some bugs we've fixed based on your reports. Let's get straight to it! {% embed url="" %} **Search workspace for files** This is a much-requested feature upgrade we've finally added to Sketchnote. Now, when you check out your file list inside a workspace, you'll see a search box so you can easily look for files from this space. This chases away the issue of using the universal search box in the sidebar to look for specific files. Especially if you have copies of them across other spaces. Find the exact file you need, absolutely quickly now! Check out how it works!
**Bug fix: Task deletion in new tab solved** This fix was reported by some of you and we've sorted it out. Earlier, in some cases, when you opened a task in a new tab, the delete button would be unresponsive. Now, when you open a task in a new tab or directly via a link, you'll be able to get rid of it from right there. **Bug fix: Cleared estimated hour behavior changed** Previously, when you entered an estimated time inside a task and changed your mind, the box would not accept a blank response on deletion. This has been fixed. Now, if you delete the estimated hour count, the box will revert to its empty state.
**Bug fix: Select private workspace when starting a new file from anywhere** This was an interesting one to sort out. Many users reported that if they tried to start a new file from within a custom workspace, they couldn't change their minds and choose private as an option to house that file. This has now been fixed. You can pick "private" as an option from pretty much anywhere at all now!
# Form Attachments Are Here January 30, 2023 Continuing with our theme of improving our existing features, we've got three amazing upgrades for you this week! Without further ado, let's get right into it: {% embed url="" %} **Form upgrades: Add checkbox and attachments** We've received great feedback from all of you, our users, on how we can improve your forms' experience. And this week we've added two more informative question options that you can incorporate into your forms and send it across to your users and clients. The first of them is a checkbox option. You can use this to ask questions that have the possibility of more than one answer. Responders can select as many or as few options as they want, and send in their answers.
The second of these new upgrades is the ability to send in attachments by your responders. So, if you're hiring for a new position, the application form you create on Sketchnote will allow your potential hirees to add their resumés to it too! With attachments, the kind of forms you can create are absolutely limitless! Go on and take forms for a spin!
**Hide quick filters on boards** We know how important laser focus is when you're working on your tasks. Especially on Kanban boards where tasks and their important aspects already take up so much of your attention. So, now, you can hide quick filters that allow you to choose a view with tasks of particular teammates. Clicking on hiding the view will clear out this section, allowing you to concentrate on the tasks. You can always bring this view back by opening the Filter dropdown and toggling Quick filters option on.
# Make Your Own Templates On Sketchnote! January 23, 2023 We've got an amazing couple of updates for you that let you—the user—truly harness the power of Sketchnote's customization. This week, we've worked on opening up the Template Store for your custom templates and putting control of who views your public files in your hands. Let's tell you all about it! {% embed url="" %} **Add your own custom templates to your organization** We know that when it comes to templates, there's no one-size-fits-all. While we design templates for work processes to accommodate all sorts of startups and departments, we're sure you have your own templatized workflows you're most comfortable with. And so, presenting a way to save your own templates, that can be used by you and your team an unlimited number of times. After designing any file, click on file options on the top right of the screen and choose "Save as template". Add some details about your template, give it a spiffy cover image, and boom! You have a template!
You can now head to Explore templates on your sidebar, and find these under your organization name. Your templates can be used by anyone in your organization at any time at all. You can save multiple views here too. Which means, your template for standup meetings that you use every week can have a Kanban board with each teammate's name, a Gantt chart, a calendar view and even a document and whiteboard to brainstorm. You're the boss! Check out how it works in the video above! **Password protection for public files is here** The next amazing update this week is that you can now enable password protection on your files you share publicly. Many times, you may need outside stakeholders to view sensitive data you don't want falling into the wrong hands. Say, you want to send a group of your investors your product updates for the month. You enable the public link and add a password to it, which you share with the link, and keep your file away from prying eyes!
# Making Sketchnote Files Smarter! January 16, 2023 This week's updates are a result of a lot of self-introspection. As much as we love releasing new features, we often have to pedal back and try to look at them through a new lens. Many times, we realize there's a way to improve on them and enhance these kickass features and make them even better for users. For YOU! And this has been one of those weeks! Here's what's releasing today: {% embed url="" %} **Duplicate your files** We've found a simple, effective way to duplicate your files! In any workspace's Files page, click on the kebab menu and choose "Create a copy". Give a name to your newly duplicated file, and it's good to go! Files duplicated within workspaces will remain in that workspace itself. You can use the "Move" option from the same kebab menu to change where it resides, if you wish to! Creating a copy of a shared file will replicate all the content, but it won't automatically be shared with the same people. This duplicated file can be found in the Private section of your workspace and can be shared separately with other stakeholders if needed! Take a look at how it works in the video above!
**Forms now have date pickers** We've added the ability for your surveys to have a date range this week. This means that you can ask questions to your customers and clients that can allow them to choose a date or a date range. So say, you wish to ask your teammates to fill out a leave request form. They can tell you they'll be unavailable between 12 January, to 14 January. You can also let responders choose a single day, and even let them pick dates only from a particular date range that you set. Isn't this cool?
# Sketchnote Whiteboard Has a New Timer! January 9, 2023 On behalf of Team Sketchnote, I'd love to wish you a happy and prosperous new year! We hope you've had a great holiday season and an even better back-to-work week. We sure have! And thanks to our reinvigorated spirit, there are a couple of amazing updates we want to tell you about this time! Let's go: {% embed url="" %} **Whiteboard, now with countdown timer!** You read that right! Sketchnote whiteboards now come with a personal countdown timer that you can set to up to 99 minutes. This timer will count you down to whatever minutes you set on the top right of your screen, so you know when to stop doodling or working on the task you're on currently. You can even add some extra time in one minute increments with a handy button on the timer! As we mentioned, this is a personal timer, so your colleagues working on the same whiteboard as you will not be able to see it. It's purely meant for your own tasks and scheduling. Go on, give it a shot!
**More whiteboard improvements** We've added smaller changes to the whiteboard to enhance your experience on them. First, we promised you a fix for the text resizing issue, and here it is! You can now add text to your board and then use the side control on the box to increase the size of the text canvas, or drag the side of the box to increase and decrease the font size. Check out the gif below for more! Another quick improvement is that now when you add a shape to your whiteboard, we'll show you quick controls around it to replicate it!
**Workspace guest access available** This week, we've also introduced the ability to add guests on a workspace level. This will allow you to add freelancers, outside collaborators and even important clients to a single workspace. The rest of the organization's files will remain unavailable to them. To add a new guest to your workspace, click on the kebab menu next to the workspace name on the sidebar. Choose Manage members and Add member. Add your guest's email ID, and you can change their access level once invited. A guest added to your workspace will count as a guest in your organization plan. This new change puts privacy and guest access levels front and centre on Sketchnote, and will give you more control over the files you wish to share. Check out all the changes in action!
# Whiteboard Improvements to End 2022 With! December 30, 2022 It's the most magical time of the year! And we're hard at work to make your Sketchnote experience a lot more magical going into the new year. Let's give you a lowdown on all that's new on Sketchnote in this last week of December! Psst: They're mostly about enhancing your whiteboard usage. {% embed url="" %} **Text enhancements on whiteboard!** We hear you! We received a lot of feedback for text resizing issues on our whiteboard, and while we're working on it, here's a great update: We'll now auto-resize text inside your sticky notes! However, if you're unsatisfied with the size, you can reduce or enlarge the text on it. Please note that since the text needs to remain within the sticky note, you won't be able to enlarge it beyond a certain size. You can, however, keep reducing the size to suit your needs.
**Align your sticky notes now!** Speaking of sticky notes on whiteboards, we've got a great new enhancement in store this week. When you now have two or more sticky notes very close to each other, you can select them by dragging a box around them and using the align options to stack them up, neatly. You can stack them one above the other, behind each other, one on top of the other, and more. Take a look at these new changes and see how they work!
**Lo-fi widget bug fix** We've gone ahead and fixed a bug on the Lo-fi widget that would end up playing two tracks together if you returned to the dashboard after a while. Now you'll be able to listen to one track at a time. Phew! # Build your spreadsheet files on Sketchnote! December 20, 2022 We're back after a week's hiatus to introduce a feature that brings a sense of completeness to our bouquet of productivity tools—the Worksheet! Let's tell you all about it, plus other new changes this week. {% embed url="" %} **Worksheets are now live on Sketchnote!** Everyone who has ever used a spreadsheet can attest to its utility. You can build pretty much anything on one! From simple databases to complex calculations—spreadsheets are often at the heart of any startup's data centre. And so, we've added the uber-familiar tool in a view called the Worksheet on Sketchnote! You can now add multiple sheets within a single Worksheet view, and keep all your vital data in one place.
But wait, what about all the existing data you have across various platforms and your local machine? Well, you can also import your existing Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers files onto Sketchnote—with your data completely intact! Go ahead and take Worksheets for a spin!
**New tab improvements** We receive some amazing feedback from our power users on a regular basis, which helps us develop a product that you all love and use. # A New Way To Work On Your Tasks! November 4, 2022 It's a brand new month, so it's only right that we introduce a brand-new feature to kick things off! Introducing My Tasks—which some of you may have already seen on the side panel—that will make sorting through and prioritizing your upcoming issues much easier. Let's tell you all about it! {% embed url="" %} **A home for your tasks** Some of the most methodical people we know swear by one thing—having a structured list of all the tasks they have on their plate. And that got us thinking. What if you could just have a tab where you could not just exclusively see all your tasks, but also categorize them the way YOU want it? Hence, My tasks!
The tab, that you can find on the side panel, will show you all your pending and upcoming tasks from across all the workspaces and organization you're a part of. You can choose to let it be the way it is. Or you can add new sections that will serve as a personal marker for yourself, and segregate tasks to them. You can shuffle sections depending on what's most urgent, or even tasks inside them. Think of this as an absolutely personal Kanban board, for your productivity. The best part is that the segmentation you make in this tab is yours and yours alone—they don't affect the original board or space they're in, at all! **Now access comments in List View** We love that you love our new list view look! After its debut last week, we've noted a lot of our power users have found utility in using the view to quickly punch in information—and access it—from outside the tasks. And to make it a bit better, you can now access comments from the list view too! Add and view comments without even having to step into the task module. Isn't that amazing for making collaboration easier?
Check out all these changes in action on Sketchnote now! # Sprucing Up The List View October 28, 2022 We're back and totally energized after a festive break, and we hope you are too! And we're so stoked to announce an overhaul of a favorite feature, to give you better productivity results! Presenting, a new-look list view. Let's tell you all about it: {% embed url="" %} **A new list view** Ever since we launched the list view feature, it's been loved by you guys, our early power users. But it's always felt a little incomplete. Sure, you get to view all the important information at a glance, but could there be more? That was the challenge we put before ourselves before rehauling the list view functionality. The result? An all-new look that not just allows you to optimally view every aspect of the tasks on your board, but now also quickly allows you to add new tasks from the view, without ever really needing to open the task itself.
Add task names, assign them to someone, and add a date, priority and label to it. What's more, you can even add custom fields to the task right within the view—without even opening the task window. But, if you do want to add more information or text to it, you can always open it and go on with it. The best part about the new change to the list view is that you can quickly keep adding tasks, quickly and one after the other. You can also drag and drop tasks between columns, add new ones and even hide them from the view. Save on some time! **Delete confirmation** We've also added an extra confirmation window to any file you plan to delete. So that you don't accidentally trash an important file. Pro tip: If you DO end up deleting an important file, you can always use the All files filter and set it to "Deleted". Restore your file quickly from there!
**Bug fix: Form result population** Our recent feature release—the forms!—is doing rather well. But, sometimes we do find one or two issues that we squash quickly. We just fixed one that would not allow you to scroll to the end of a list when you had over 20 replies to a form (Thanks Ario, for flagging this!) Check out the new List view in action, and all the other feature enhancements and fixes from this week! # Feature enhancements and bug fixes, incoming! October 14, 2022 Every few weeks we like to pause the feature releases that are being pushed at a breakneck speed. Why? Because while we're strong believers in, "Move fast and break things," we do like to fix features for usability. This is one such week where we're enhancing certain features we shipped recently and squashing some critical bugs while at it. Let's tell you all about what we've been up to this week: {% embed url="" %} **Unpinning made easy** We're making it simpler for you to unpin files not vital to you any longer, quickly. Simply hover over the pin icon on the sidebar and click unpin. It's that easy now! This will help you avoid going into the Workspace or file and locating the unpin button. Save clicks, save time.
**Go back to main task from subtask** The subtask feature is hands down one of our favorite things to use in the Board view. You can keep populating these dependent tasks within a core one and also see their relationship in the task card outside. But earlier, if you were inside a subtask, going back into the parent task meant having to start from scratch: You go to the Board view and click on the task again. Well, no more. We've added a back button to the subtask so you can switch between the main and dependent tasks with ease.
**Bug fix: Label incorrectly populating** We also fixed a critical bug this week that would cause labels to populate incorrectly when opening a task from the dashboard or via notifications. Now, when you head to a fullscreen task directly, you won't be met with inaccurate data! **New help pages are here** A drawback of shipping big features regularly is that the user manual usually lags behind for a while. So, we gave the help pages a complete overhaul with information about how to use our latest features, files, views, and integrations, as well as details about settings. And FAQs! Take a look and bookmark the page for further help. # Introducing Sketchnote Forms! October 7, 2022 We've got a solid new update for you this week. We now have Forms on Sketchnote! Yes, you can now design your own questionnaires, send them across to clients, employees and anyone else at all, and collect answers. Let's tell you all about this (plus another nifty new feature improvement) {% embed url="" %} **Sketchnote forms are now live!** Create your own forms for everything from collecting contact information to event registration, feedback, job application and a lot, lot more! The best part? You can share this form you create with your team within Sketchnote and with outside clients and collaborators—anywhere on the Internet! Begin using Forms by adding as many fields as you need, including star ratings and linear scales to collect all the information you need from your responders. Each question has space for a description as well as a placeholder answer, so your target audience is never confused. Bonus: Add images to any question and even to multiple-choice options!
Once the responses start pouring in, you can head to the results tab and check them out. Option number one is the Inbox view, where you can see the whole form with answers from one responder at a time. Option number two is the Summary view, where you can check out answers to each question, collectively. When it comes to linear scales and star ratings, you'll see a graph chart view to process data points like most common answers! While this is just the beginning, we're looking at expanding Form capabilities by leaps and bounds, including templates as well as the ability to turn responses into tasks. Stay tuned! **Task history is here** We're also super pumped to tell you that task history is now live. Inside each task, you can now check out just how it got to the stage it did and who worked on it. Check out information such as sub-task creation, status changes, new custom fields, completion changes, column changes, who's been watching it, and a lot more. Phew!
# More Analytics for Smarter Decisions September 30, 2022 So far, we've seen our power users really make the most of the analytics option on files. The tab—that you can easily add to any files with boards on them—helps you see the level of task completion and just how much work each teammate has at hand. And now, we're introducing the much-awaited Reporting tab on your dashboard that gives you an overall view of ALL your files and teammates in your organization. Let's tell you about this new feature plus other stuff that's going on with Sketchnote! {% embed url="" %} **Reporting tab, now live!** To be honest, we've been pilot-testing the reporting tab for a while on Sketchnote now but are only now announcing it, post multiple levels of checks and balances. While the tab is available for all to see, you can only truly get data insights if you're an organization admin. This is an added layer of security to avoid sensitive data from going beyond the admins. Inside the reporting tab, you need to first set a date range for which you want to check out data and the files taken into consideration. You will also notice a quick summary of completed and pending tasks before a proper deep dive into tasks by completion status, assignees, workload and priorities.
In the settings drop-down on the top right of your screen, there's now a new option called availability. To get the most out of your timesheet reports, make sure your team has their daily available hours set over there—you can choose between 3 and 12 hours a day! Once the section is filled out, the timesheet section of the reporting tab will give you the most accurate data you need to find out employee bandwidth and organization workload. Check out the burn-up and burn-down data of your team, as well as quick insights that you can use to make decisions regarding tasks. Finally, there's the member-wise breakdown on the reporting tab that will give you a detailed look into their work schedule so far. **Browser tabs will now have file names** We get it. It's hard to find the right tab to work on when you've got plenty open. And to fix that issue, we're ensuring your browser tab names now display the name of the file, so you can quickly open it up and work on it. Pro tip: You can simply start typing the name of your file in your browser's address bar to open up a new tab with the file in it!
**Assigned tasks take centre stage** We've also gone ahead and moved tasks assigned to you—across all workspaces and organizations you're a part of—to the middle of your dashboard. It used to be on the right side of your screen as a small widget, but we get that checking out your upcoming tasks is quite important. So, the change!
# BRAND NEW Whiteboard and Calendar views on Sketchnote September 12, 2022 We're loving the feedback on custom fields already! It's been vital for us to provide the most seamless experience to our users when you work on tasks. And today's updates are exactly along these lines. Presenting, brand new Whiteboard and Calendar looks! Let's tell you all about it these: {% embed url="" %} **Whiteboard gets a facelift** We're super excited to introduce you to the new Sketchnote Whiteboard experience, that will make brainstorming and remote visual collaboration with your teams a rich experience. To start off with, say hello to sections on Whiteboard. You can select a bunch of elements on your board and move them around together, instead of moving single ones. The Whiteboard also has a brand new highlighter feature and connectors to make mind mapping a breeze. A fun new addition are stamps! You can use frequently-used emojis—as well as some Sketchnote character images—to stamp your approval on a canvas!
Utility-wise, we've got another amazing feature: You can now link Sketchnote files and lessons from within your organization onto the Whiteboard. This is great for referencing and internal redirection, without ever leaving the canvas. You can, obviously, also embed external links and videos too. Isn't this kickass? **New look Calendar** Now, find the Calendar tab with subviews like a month, week, work-week, day and agenda. These subviews will help you get everything from a bird's eye view of your month to a granular look at what your day looks like. We've added a bonus feature to Calendar too! If you've synced your Google Calendar too Sketchnote, we'll show you all the meetings you've got lined up in the Calendar view too, so you never miss a call. Please note that like the Calendar widget, the Google Calendar meetings that show up inside files are currently in read-only mode, but we're working on expanding its capabilities quickly. One step at a time!
# Customize your tasks on Sketchnote, your way September 5, 2022 This week, we're introducing a few more amazing features to take your customizable experience of Sketchnote to the next level—custom fields for tasks and CSV imports, as well as a brand new task design. Let's tell you all about these: {% embed url="" %}
{% endembed %} **Custom task fields** While we have input options like the start and end date of tasks, the assigner, labels and priorities, sometimes you just need more. So, presenting custom task fields that you can use to make your project truly yours. Choose options like text, numbers, select, multi-select, URL, email IDs and phone numbers to get started. These custom fields can be used to add revenue details of a potential account, categorize the lead you're chasing, websites, last contacted dates, and a lot, lot more.
The sky's the limit when it comes to using custom fields and use cases are infinite. Go ahead and customize your field experience! **CSV Imports** You can now migrate your tasks and Excel sheets from other platforms as CSV imports! All you have to do is save your project or sheet as a CSV (or xlsx, xls, numbers, csv, txt, ods and many other common spreadsheet formats) and start an import on Sketchnote. Choose the column you want to turn into a task and voila! You're done. Check out the video to see how it's done. Just be warned that since we're currently in beta, only the first 200 fields of the sheet you choose will be downloaded. We're working on expanding this function further very soon.
**New task design** Another new change we're making to Sketchnote is to introduce a compact yet informative task design for Kanban Boards. Now when you switch the file view for boards, you will be able to see a preview of the attached image, a small tab for priority, completion status, number of subtasks, attachments, and a quick complete checkbox. Inside the task too, there's a prominent space for new custom fields and a bigger space to write the contents of the task. The comments and attachment sections are moved to the side panel so you can concentrate on the task at hand first.
# Please welcome: Sketchnote 2.0! August 29, 2022 Say hello to two new dashboards—Academy and Workstation—a whole new file system and an enhanced search experience. Let's tell you all about it! {% embed url="" %} **Hey there, files!** First up, we're so excited to tell you about the redesign that will blow your shoes off! Instead of a fragmented work style, here's a new file system that just makes a lot more sense. Now you can simply choose a primary view for your file (think docs for articles, Kanban for issues, or whiteboard for brainstorming) and get to work! You can keep adding multiple views inside a file, so all your work related to a project remains in one, centralized place alone!
Inside the new files, you can hit the explore menu to pin or favorite them and access them later. You'll also be able to archive or delete a file from within itself. You can now also add tags to files that you can search for later. Isn't that awesome? **Enhanced work experience** To give you a distraction-free experience, we've separated your work and learning lives. On the Workstation dashboard, which is also the default, you will be given all the tools you need in order to complete your projects, without any hurdles. The sidebar for workspaces, shared, and private files is now compact and collapsible, letting you concentrate on the tasks at hand. You can pin or favorite files on the sidebar for easier access right here.
**New academy dashboard** We've taken the 100+ startup lessons that are Sketchnote's USP, and turned this into a separate dashboard for an enhanced learning experience. Now, you can simply toggle the switch on top of your current dashboard to come to the Academy view. Here, you can either pick a recommended lesson or browse through our catalog and begin one. From fundraising to marketing, ideation to personal development—choose from handcrafted lessons to grow on your startup journey. Pin a lesson to access it quickly from the sidebar later, if you're short on time. These lessons come with a customizable template that you can start working on, with or without completing the learnings as well!
Legal templates too are now in Academy, where you can create your own fully-useable documents like NDAs, MoUs, ESOP plans and more. This new view will also set the stage for our LMS feature, coming soon. Psst, you can choose your default dashboard from Preferences, as well as the widgets you want on them. **Sleek new search** We've upgraded the search experience on Sketchnote, massively. Not only will you be able to search for file names now, but you will also be able to search for tags that you can add to your files!
# Sync Google Calendar With Sketchnote August 4, 2022 After a bit of a hiatus, we're back to tell you about all that's new with Sketchnote! Surely, you've been wondering what's new, right? Well, we've got a brand new Google Calendar widget for all your task sync needs! Let's tell you about it: {% embed url="" %} **Sync your Google Calendars with Sketchnote** We know a lot of your day's scheduling depends on Google Calendar. It's where you receive call invites, task reminders, and a lot more. So, we thought let's take this integration live so you can sync all your Google Calendar events with Sketchnote! You can now add multiple Google accounts to your Sketchnote dashboard's calendar and see all the tasks that are scheduled for you on the day! Two quick ways of adding an account: You can directly click on My Calendars on the widget and add your ID. Or you can head to Preferences and then Integrations. We'd love to hear what features you'd want with this widget! **Smarter Add Task modal** We get it. Some mornings it's just an avalanche of tasks that hits you—especially if it's a Monday. Then it isn't really convenient to have a whole new window open up every time you wish to add a task. And this is something we've gleaned from YOUR feedback! So, we've made the Add Task modal a little quicker. Now when you click on Add Task, you will be able to quickly jot down a header and continue adding more issues to the Board. To fill in more details, click on the task again, and you're ready to go! We took a break last week to regroup and realign ourselves with regards to what goes out of the Sketchnote stable next. And the more we thought about it, the more we realized that we wanted to make time tracking a well-rounded feature before we channel our energies into newer items. The result? This emailer! Here's what we've worked on this week: {% embed url="" %} **Timesheets, now available**\ First things first, we've delivered on the promise we made two weeks ago. If you remember, we mentioned that you'll soon be able to expand on the time tracking feature we've added to Boards. So now, you can scroll through available views and click on timesheets to see a proper breakdown of time spent by each member on the tasks.\ \ The timesheet view will show you who's worked on what task for how long, estimated time, total time tracked, and a split between billable and non-billable hours. ![](/files/dYBkYNYnGQ98P4kqofus) **Edit time logs**\ What's more amazing is that you can edit and delete entries made to the timesheet! Yup, you can edit the number of hours worked on a task, toggle a non-billable task to a billable one (and vice versa) and update details on the go. Simply select the time tracked button, cycle to time log, expand the view and click on the upward arrow to open the edit view. ![](/files/dRosd2n2HBiP7I4eWNB5) # Better Time Tracking Comes To Sketchnote June 17, 2022 A couple of weeks ago, we slipped in a small promise that eagle-eyed Sketchnote power users caught. And now we can let the cat out of the bag, for real! We're taking on the challenge of creating a really robust time tracking system for Sketchnote Boards! We introduced the estimated time section recently, where you could manually add the number of hours you expect the task to take. Let's one up this! {% embed url="" %} **Introducing, more detailed time tracking** You can now start keeping a tab of time spent on a task in multiple ways: 1. You can simply start and stop the timer when you're working on an issue. 2. You can still manually add the number of hours it takes for you to work on the open task. 3. You can select a range of hours—say 1 pm to 2 pm—and add that to the task. The best part is that you can also mark hours spent on a task as billable so that you can create invoices easily later on. A brand new tab called Timelog will allow you to not just see the time you've spent on an issue, but also if a colleague has and how many hours. You can also quickly see if the hours are billable or not. Currently, you will only be able to view this tab but we're rolling out the ability to open it up as a view and edit details on it too! Check out our brand new, AWESOME feature in action in the video above! **A better view for Kanban tasks** We get it, sometimes it can get extremely overwhelming to look at a task in the Kanban view. You have the cover, name of the task, priority, labels, task ID, due date… phew! We're rolling out a brand new look to Kanban tasks that will only show you the most vital information—task name, priority and label—at a glance. Once you move your cursor over it and hover, the tab will expand to show you more relevant details. Click on the video to see how it looks! # Slow But Steady Wins The Race! June 9, 2022 Can we tell you a little secret? We believe that the secret sauce of building a great platform isn't how many big updates you ship out, but how consistently you release improvements. Because it shows that we're listening and that we care about the experience of the bigger things. This week's updates are exactly that—enhancements of features you love using and want to make the best out of. So let's get to it! {% embed url="" %} **A better date picker** When you assign a task on the board, you first get the option of choosing a singular date to pin this issue for. But we all know tasks and issues don't work that way. It's a long process most times that can go into days. Heck, that's why we even introduced the estimated time for the task! And so, you will straight away get the option to assign a date range to your task, on toggling on the end date option. Choose the dates this issue falls under, and also see it populate your Gantt chart easily! **Improved notification mails** Another improvement this week comes via our notification mails. A few of our power users suggested that we also include the name of the board and the task that they've received a notification for, instead of just information that the status had changed, or that they had been mentioned. Point taken! Your email will not contain information about what task and what board changes have been made on. # Improved task modal, and a new changelog! June 2, 2022 If you're a longtime user of Sketchnote Boards, you probably remember the evolution of tasks from very rudimentary in the past to a kickass new version in the present. However, one of our more important bits of the task remained stuck—the first time you open it. Well, we're changing it! {% embed url="" %} **Brand new task modal** You know when you open a task again, you see a markdown editor, task details on the right of the screen and attachments. And we know you love it, based on all the feedback we get! We've got some more Board updates for you this week! Specifically, we've started rolling out updates on time estimation for tasks, something our power users have requested earnestly. Let's tell you all about these! {% embed url="" %} **Estimate task times now**\ The first and the most important update is a stepping stone for Sketchnote Boards to really get smarter in terms of time tracking. Now, the boards allow your team to estimate how much time a task will take, in hours. So if your new website will take roughly 120 hours to finish, write down the hours so everyone is in the loop about it!\ \ But wait, what happens if more than one person is working on a task? No problemo! We've got you. Once you punch in the estimated hours, you can also divide hours individually, so anyone looking at the task knows which team member plans to dedicate how many hours to the task. We're just getting started with time tracking, so we hope you'll find value in this first new feature! **Filter tasks by assignee quickly** As you know, you can use the filter function to quickly see tasks assigned by team members on your boards. But what if you're in a bit of a hurry, which—let's face it—you usually are? Well, we've got a solution for you in this update! You can now simply click on a thumbnail of a colleague and see tasks assigned to them quickly. Revert to viewing your own tasks with a click of a button too. It's that easy! # Task IDs on Boards make searching easier May 19, 2022 While the Sketchnote universe is pretty vast, we find ourselves coming back to our Boards time and again. The reason? It's pretty simple, we have a ton of requests from users like you for additional features on Boards time and again! One popular request was an assignment of task IDs that can help you identify and locate an issue quickly. And we're so glad to say it's now live! Take a look at this, plus other Board improvements this week. {% embed url="" %} **Task IDs, now live** Now when you start a new Board and begin to add issues to it, each task will be assigned a unique ID code to it. The ID will have the initial of the Board name, plus the number of the task this particular one happens to be. So, for example, your Board is called New Board and this is the third task you're adding to it, the ID will be a version of “NB-3”. You get the drift. Why are we adding these? Let's tell you! **Search for tasks easily** Yes! We've also implemented a search button in your Boards that you can use to look for particular tasks, using these Task IDs. These ticket numbers can be very crucial for tech teams, as well as customer relationship management, especially when time is of the essence. Simply quote the task number to your teammate when needed, or look for the task with the ID quoted to you, and get to your issues faster. Forget about scrolling through endless issues!\ \ Check the video out to see how these changes work! **Add new tasks better** We love working on smaller delights that make life easier for our users. Here's one example. This week, we've added a small but important change to your Sketchnote Boards. When you're starting off a fresh Board, the plus button to add a new task will now be visible next to the column name itself. No more scrolling around to find it! Easy, right? **Bug fix: Filter visibility** Some of our users had trouble seeing the contents of the filter button while using the Board. This issue has now been fixed, and will have better visibility! # Quick Notes + LoFi Music are here! May 12, 2022 Have you ever been in the middle of a daydreaming session and felt the urge to make a quick note? Or been brainstorming with your team when a few important points cropped up? Well, we've been there too! It's not always convenient to find a handy pen and paper. Besides, when all your work is on Sketchnote, why shouldn't your notes be? So, say hello to the quick notes widget on your Sketchnote dashboard! **Jot down your thoughts quickly!** Yup! We've added a handy note-taking widget that's now available on your dashboard. The best part about the quick note is that it works exactly in the same way as your regular document. You can format your text, add headers, even add a to-do list and more! The note will solely be visible to you on your dashboard, and to no one else. Psst: Every organization will have its own quick note, so ensure you look for the right one! Only recently we've added the List view, Whiteboard view and the Gantt view to it. And now, we're proud to present the Calendar view! Here's all about it, plus more feature updates. **Calendar view on Boards is here!** Besides seeing your tasks in a Kanban, List or Gantt view, you can now check your project deadlines in the calendar view too. Perfect for when you want to check the dates across which your tasks fall, or how full your month is looking. Use the customize option to see assignees and the comment icon on your calendar tasks, so you know which one to tackle first. They'll need to have a Sketchnote account too to be able to make changes alongside your team. Let’s tell you about updates this week! **Single task share is finally here** This has been a very popular request with power users of Sketchnote, where they wanted to just send one task from a board to concerned teammates. Unless the teammate is also a part of that board, they will only be able to see the task shared with them, while the rest of your work remains confidential! Well, you don’t need to create yet another task for that any longer! Head on inside a task and create a subtask. Assign these independently within your team, and have them mark it as complete when done. A cool new icon will tell you on the Board home page if a main task has subtasks inside too. What’s more, you can also collapse the subtask view and reopen it any time you want on the home page. Compared to the former, the list style view is more horizontal, making your details a lot more readable for each task. Here’s a lowdown on it all. **Brand new look to the Boards, plus Markdown editor** For those of you who love to use Sketchnote Boards for their projects and team coordination, you’ll notice the Boards have started looking a LOT more colorful and detailed. Besides the cover picture and emoji you add to your task to give it character, on the inside you can now use the Markdown editor to actually detail out your tasks with formatting. Write down entire blog posts, articles, and even pitches inside and coordinate with your team. No more externally linking to documents! Besides, you can now see important details of the task like Assigner, Assignee, Dates, Priority and Label on the right inside the task, so you don’t miss out on the important bits. Earlier, you could only see the privacy level if you were an admin. Now, anyone in the workspace will be able to see if it’s public for the whole organization or limited to a few teammates. Note: If the duplicated document is a shared one, you can find it in your private folder. You know what you CAN’T always recollect, though? Changes you made to that document three days ago. It’s hard; we’ve all been there. You can’t be expected to remember every little bit of the work you’ve done before. Hence, version history! Let’s tell you a bit about what’s new at Sketchnote. **Check out and restore version history** We promised this feature a while back, and it’s finally here! You could want to check smaller changes that have happened over the course of the document’s lifecycle. Or you could be collaborating on a document and want to see changes your teammates made. No problemo! We’re here to help! You can click on the history icon on the top right of your document to see the changes that were made by you—or your collaborators—and items that were changed. You can also restore a version and have your document revert to a past state! # Bug fixes: Editor, Organization and Workspaces January 26, 2022 This one’s going to be a real special emailer. Why? Because this one’s solely dedicated to fixing bugs! When you’re building fast—and in public—things tend to break, and at Sketchnote we’re committed to making sure we fix as fast as we ship. Without further ado, here’s what’s newly patched up at Sketchnote! **Organization and workspace fixes** First up, we’ve fixed a bunch of behavioral issues when it comes to organizations and workspaces. Public workspaces will now be visible to all members of the organization, and won’t behave erratically. When you now remove a member of the organization, you won’t see issues cropping up on the platform either. And once the member is removed, all their documents will get auto-assigned to the organization owner. ![](/files/66nH7S6Vr8DujEBrrllC) **Editor fixes** Firefox users were particularly facing an issue where clicking on a placeholder wouldn’t focus on the block. General browser users also had an issue where the editor would crash while the data was being synced. Buckle up: Now you can scroll board columns individually. Instead of the whole page moving together, you can work on checking just one column out. Earlier, using Grammarly on Sketchnote would lead to random cursor jumps and inability to correct faulty language. We've now fixed this issue. One issue we're working on as you read this is where Grammarly extensions can slow Sketchnote editors down. November 24, 2021 ## The Sketchnote Content Editor Gets Smarter! We love receiving feedback. We really do! But more than that, we love turning this feedback into delights for our users, by making features out of them. Truly, it's a successful outing for us when we manage to give our users what they want. And that's been our story of this week. We put together all the feedback we've received about our editor in the last couple of weeks and went to work on them. These new features and improvements are based on that. Check 'em out! **Edit your documents offline** This has been a much-requested feature very high on our lists. And with good reason. It's not always possible to be connected to the Internet—when you're traveling, or in an area with patchy connectivity. And in situations like this, having the ability to work on your workspace is invaluable. Presenting, offline editing! Work on Sketchnote, no matter where you are without Internet connectivity. Once online, your changes and edits will be made live. Now when you hit the back button from navigation when inside a doc or board, you'll be taken to the private or shared section you were on earlier. Sometimes when you're learning a module, you'd rather not listen to the audio. This could be to hear your thoughts, discuss things with your team, or even so you don't disturb people around you as you work! Previously, when you paused the audio on a card, you'd have to repeat your action on the next one. No more!\ \ Now, when you stop audio in one card, it'll remain this way till you manually unpause it! Now, when you wish to select multiple blocks of text or tables from the editor, the process will be much faster and less laggy.\ \ Another fix we've implemented will see your screen automatically scroll when you start a new line on the editor. And thus, we've worked some more on our table functionality this week to add another much-requested feature: Freeze columns. Use the number option to add digits (more functionalities in this column, coming soon, *wink wink*) to your column when you need. And this week, our tech mavens have narrowed their focus down onto the most used feature of the editor—the table!\ \ First up, we've added a much-requested feature to our table's host of weapons. Say hello to sorting! Now, use the sort by ascending or descending feature to rearrange your table's cells, just the way you want to see them!\ \ Next, we've also added a start and end date calendar feature to tables. The next time you wish to insert a date field to your table, try using the picker and add a start and an end date to your entry—just like a Board!\ \ Lastly, we've made a small improvement to the table, where if you click outside it, the active cell will not be highlighted any longer. After all, how do we ensure an excellent experience to you, if we don't enjoy it ourselves, right? So when we use docs, we realize the potential of the header, and the real estate it has to offer. The challenge, then, is to ensure we give you the most important features at your fingertips, without having to scroll to much or look for them.\ \ Therefore, we now will let you see the avatars of your team members on the header, even as you scroll through the document! This ensures that you always know who you're collaborating with on your document, while you continue working on it, at a glance. We've also ensured that you see only four avatars at a time on the header, instead of the whole suite of users you may have shared your document with. Here goes: **Creating a doc or board will take you straight to it**\ One of Sketchnote's mantra has always been to find the fastest, most convenient route to what you want to do, just when you need it. And to that end, we've made it quicker to start working on your new board or document. You'll now find yourself instantly inside your board or document, immediately after creating it, and with one click less. And our aim is to make the editor experience as optimal as possible. To that end, we sat down this week to add some new changes and delights to your editor usage.\ The very first change this time was to the table—we know you love it!. The height size of the table is now reduced. One of the biggest bugs we've fixed is fixing the alignment of blocks to the handle on the left. That won't be a thing any longer! # Introducing Sketchnote Boards October 20, 2021 Let us quickly tell you what we've been up to this past week: **Boards are finally here!**\ Remember seeing the small sand clock icon next to Boards on your Sketchnote? Yes, that's gone now, and we couldn't be happier! This has been our tech team's baby for a while, and it promises to make your team collabs, project tracking, and future roadmaps a smoother process!\ \ Go ahead and start a board for personal use, or to track a team project. You can start an empty, custom task document. Or you can choose from one of the creations you've already unlocked. Tasks assigned to teammates will automatically show up on your boards. Pick the priority order, drag tasks into columns when their status changes, leave instructions on how to follow them and MORE with Sketchnote's new Boards! ![](/files/ORsbA2wXpz0u27x9fxu8) **Drag to repeat in tables**\ We get it. Sometimes working on tables can mean filling out cells with the same information over and over again. And copy pasting can only cut it for this long. We've turned the cell highlighter into a draggable one. Take the handle and drag it to fill out as many cells as necessary with the same information. In order to make our table absolutely power-packed, we've been sifting through all the suggestions that you've sent across and prioritizing them. One common element was multi-cell copy pasting. You asked, and we delivered. It's now much easier to select and copy paste multi cells on Sketchnote tables. This action will also add rows and columns to your table when you start running out of them. With every product launch and its subsequent beta phase come two major things—bugs and new features. And every week, our able tech team tries to deal with these two by taking the challenges of building and shipping features quickly, head on. As initial beta testers, we believe you'll get the best out of your experience of using Sketchnote when you know how we've enhanced your experience. Presenting, the first of many bug fixes and feature updates for Sketchnote. Here's what we've been up to this week: **Magic link to log in and sign up with**\ No Google ID? No problem. Sign up using any email ID at all, and we'll give you two ways to start using Sketchnote. You can access your mail and get in using a code we sent you, or simply click on the link in the same mail to be redirected to sign up screen. Similarly, log in using a code or a magic link, whenever you want! This sign up method means you'll need to set a password for your Sketchnote account. And in the first step towards getting the best out of it, we've improved the table behavior inside creations and documents editor. We took a break last week to regroup and realign ourselves with regards to what goes out of the Sketchnote stable next. And the more we thought about it, the more we realized that we wanted to make time tracking a well-rounded feature before we channel our energies into newer items. The result? This emailer! Here's what we've worked on this week: {% embed url="" %} **Timesheets, now available**\ First things first, we've delivered on the promise we made two weeks ago. If you remember, we mentioned that you'll soon be able to expand on the time tracking feature we've added to Boards. So now, you can scroll through available views and click on timesheets to see a proper breakdown of time spent by each member on the tasks.\ \ The timesheet view will show you who's worked on what task for how long, estimated time, total time tracked, and a split between billable and non-billable hours. ![](/files/zH8mcdISR7Zor9VBslvO) **Edit time logs**\ What's more amazing is that you can edit and delete entries made to the timesheet! Yup, you can edit the number of hours worked on a task, toggle a non-billable task to a billable one (and vice versa) and update details on the go. By the way, you can edit hours spent through the task view too, for quick access.
